Why Your Document Translation Partner Matters

USCIS adjudicators review thousands of translated documents every day. A translation that is incomplete, inaccurately formatted, improperly certified, or missing required fields doesn’t just get rejected — it can trigger a Request for Evidence (RFE), delay your case by months, or result in a denial. The stakes are high enough that choosing the right translation service is one of the most important decisions in your immigration process.

At USCIS Translations, we are an ATA Corporate Member with over 10 years of experience providing certified document translations accepted by USCIS, U.S. federal and state courts, universities, and government agencies across all 50 states. Our translators are native speakers matched to your specific document type and country of origin — because a birth certificate from Mexico, a marriage contract from Egypt, and a police clearance letter from India all require fundamentally different expertise.

Frequently Asked Questions

What documents does USCIS require to be translated?

Under 8 CFR 103.2(b)(3), any document in a foreign language submitted in support of a USCIS application or petition must be accompanied by a complete English translation. This includes birth certificates, marriage certificates, divorce decrees, death certificates, court records, police clearances, academic transcripts, and any other supporting foreign-language evidence.

A certified translation includes a signed Certificate of Translation Accuracy from the translator, certifying that the translation is complete and accurate and that they are competent to translate the language pair. This certification is what USCIS, courts, and government agencies require. A standard translation does not include this certification and is suitable for personal use, business communications, or academic review.

No. USCIS requires only a certified translation — not a notarized one. Notarization is an additional authentication step performed by a Notary Public and is required by some state courts and agencies, but not by USCIS for most immigration applications. We offer it as an add-on for $9 per order.

Standard certified translations are delivered within 24–48 hours. Expedited delivery (12–24 hours) is available at $28/page for urgent deadlines.
