Certified Translation of Apostilled Documents for USCIS & Legal Use
What Is an Apostille — And Why You Still Need a Translation
An apostille authenticates a document’s signature or seal under the Hague Convention — it does not translate it. If your apostilled document is in a foreign language, USCIS, U.S. courts, and government agencies still require a certified English translation.
We translate the full document, apostille attachment included.
100% USCIS acceptance guaranteed

How We Handle Apostilled Documents
When you submit an apostilled document for translation:
We translate the complete underlying document (birth certificate, marriage certificate, court record, etc.)
We translate the apostille attachment text (country, competent authority, date, signature details)
We note in the certified translation that an apostille is attached to the original
We include a signed Certificate of Translation Accuracy covering the full translated document

Our translations follow the same format as your source document, however we do not attempt to replicate its appearance. All translations are produced on our USCIS translations stationery and include a signed and sealed Certificate of Translation Accuracy.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does an apostille mean I don't need a certified translation?
No. An apostille certifies authenticity, not language. A Spanish-language document with an apostille is still in Spanish. You still need a certified English translation for USCIS and U.S. legal proceedings.
Should I apostille my document before or after translating it?
Apostille first, then translate. The translation service should receive the complete apostilled document so the apostille text is included in the certified translation.
Does USCIS require apostilles on foreign documents?
No. USCIS does not require apostilles on foreign documents submitted with immigration applications. A certified translation alone is sufficient for USCIS purposes. Apostilles are more commonly required by foreign governments and courts.
My apostille is in a foreign language — do you translate that too?
Yes. The apostille attachment itself (which is issued by the foreign competent authority) is included in our translation if it is in a foreign language.
